Landscape I visit friends in Indio 3 or 4 times a year and I always stop at the rest stop that is on US 10 just after the 111 turn off. I get a coffee at the McDonald’s a few miles back and when I reach the rest stop I just sit back and enjoy the view. Then it’s out with the camera to shoot Mt Jacinto in all it’s glory. There are several places along the fence that borders the rest stop where a good photo can be had. Only caveat is to get there in the morning. In the late afternoon you can go out front and shoot north towards US 10 and the hills and the wind turbines.
I hike often in Mt. San Jacinto. It is the favorite mountain of mine in SoCal. Well, But then, there’s Mt. San Gorgonio… LOL
I read that a little too fast and thought you said you visited India. 🙂

Is this the mountain in Peter Gabriel’s San Jacinto?
